Rockets kill and wound civilians in towns of Saqba and Hamouriyah in breach of 'safe zones' agreement, opposition outlet reports

Regime Violates

Six civilians were killed and a number of others wounded on Tuesday in a regime bombardment of towns in the Eastern Ghouta, which is considered one of the “de-escalation” zones agreed upon in the Astana talks.

Local media activist Anas Salah told Alsouria Net that the Assad regime targeted the towns of Hamouriyah and Saqba in the Ghouta with surface-to-surface short-range rockets, killing women and children.

Salah said that the source of the bombardment was a regime military unit stationed on the Homs-Damascus international highway.

The anti-government Ghouta Media Center said that the rockets had caused heavy damage to the old mosque and a number of surrounding buildings in Saqba.
